Song : Willie Nelson : Just Breathe (Pearl Jam Cover)
04/10/2012

Willie Nelson was one of the first musical artists I fell in love with. His brashness towards authority, the sincerity in his voice and lyrics, and his charitable contributions to causes such as Farm Aid were all reasons for this. When I heard Willie’s voice belting out Coldplay’s The Scientist for Chipotle a [...]

Video : Oberhofer : Away Frm U
04/10/2012

Oberhofer released a new video for Away Frm U from the Steve Lillywhite-produced Time Capsules II. The video is very colorful and similar to early-90s feel of the Django Django video we posted about yesterday, except we get to witness Brad Oberhofer licking the mic in this clip. Check out the video below… Time [...]

Wiggins and Muhammad shine in the Nike Hoop Summit
04/10/2012

Shabazz Muhammad gets his dunk on. During last night’s Nike Hoop Summit, it was a pair of Kentucky targets that shined the most: Andrew Wiggins and Shabazz Muhammad. Andrew Wiggins, a 2014 SF from Canada, scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in the World Select Team’s 84-75 win over Team USA last night in [...]

UK football finishes up first full scrimmage
04/10/2012

UK hit the gridiron today in the first full scrimmage of the spring. The first-team defense went against the first-team offense, followed by the second-team offense against the second-team defense. I always get worried about scrimmages against your own team because if the offense does well, I worry about the defense and vice versa, but [...]

NCAA champs: the season after
04/10/2012

Photo : Lucy Nicholson/Reuters Now that Coach Cal has permanently put to rest the question of whether or not you can win a championship under the one-and-done method of recruiting, he now faces the task of trying to defend the title and reload after most of this team evacuates Lexington for the NBA. I decided [...]

Matt Norlander ranks the best games of the tournament
04/10/2012

Just because Here’s a fun off-season topic: ranking the top ten games of the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Matt Norlander did just that over at CBSSports.com, and only one of the National Champions’ games made it on the list: the Indiana game. 10. Kentucky 102, Indiana 90. How could a game that ended with a double-digit [...]

Between Pete Thamel and easily circumvented paywalls, there’s a lot to love at the biggest paper in the country. However, this article by William Rhoden has left me pretty confused. It’s titled ‘Begrudging the Kentucky Wildcats’ Success [...]

Indiana, Louisville, Kentucky: 1-2-3 Punch
04/10/2012

Yours truly with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.  This has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the post, I just really wanted to use it. If you’re from Kentuckiana, you’re in for a heck of a basketball season next year.  If you’re not from Kentuckiana, you didn’t even know that was a word. [...]

Anthony Davis in the Rafters?
04/10/2012

One of the most common debates among Kentucky fans centers around which jersey(s) should make it into the Rupp Arena rafters next. Many have argued that we are overdue for the addition of another jersey, and they are probably right. The case has been made for players ranging from Tayshaun Prince to Tony Delk. In [...]

Baylor basketball is in trouble
04/10/2012

The Baylor basketball team could be in trouble and it has nothing to do with all the damage those neon uniforms did to the eyesight of America’s youth.
